Maradona, he is the icon of soccer in 80’s. He was born
53 years ago in Buenos Aires. He became an idol of people in Argentina. He
started his career when he was 16 with Argentinos Juniors Football Club. After
one year, he was bought by Boca Juniors Football Club, A professional football
club in Argentina. Maradona got his first cup of Argentine’s League with Boca Juniors
FC.
His tall is only 165 centimeters, but he has great
skill in playing soccer. He has a good dribbling and shooting. He moved to
Barcelona FC in 1982. As we know that Barcelona must paid 3 million pounds to
Boca Juniors FC for him. That’s a world transfer record at that time. In Barcelona
FC, he got Cup of Spain’s King or we often call “Copa Del Rey”. Then, Maradona
is transferred to Napoli FC in 1984. In Napoli FC, he got the Italy’s League
Cup two times each in 1986 and 1990.
Napoli FC also became a champion of UEFA Cup after
beating Stuttgart FC from Germany. His greatest show is when he won the World
Cup 1986 in Mexico with his National Team, Argentina. He made the best goal
ever by passing 5 men when Argentina faced England at quarter final of World
Cup 1986 in Mexico. He also made the “unforgettable” goal by using his hand at
that match. All the England squads protest about it, but the referee didn’t see
that Maradona used his hand to score, and finally Argentina won 2-1.
His career was getting down when he is proven to use
drugs in 1991. He wasn’t allowed to play soccer for 15 months by FIFA. He comes
back with Newell’s Old Boys FC. But, in 1994 FIFA gives him the second
punishment because of the same problem.
He stops playing soccer in 1997. In 2004, he was
getting sick because of the using of drugs. He got many therapies to be health.
And finally he was chosen as coach of Argentina in 2008.
